Lecture: Karl Schrag and the Legacy of Atelier 17

Karl Schrag began working with the printmaker S.W. Hayter when Hayter moved his world renowned Atelier 17 to New York City in the ealry 1940’s. Schrag, who was developing his own career, served as the director of this prestigious workshop that had become a gathering spot for European Surrealists and progressive American artists. Exhibition curator Domenico Iacono will speak about Schrag, Hayter, and other printmakers associated with Atelier 17.
